Constraints to manufacturing companies in implementation of green manufacturing in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Despite the crucial role that businesses have played in adoption of green supply chains, it appears manufacturing enterprises not effectively utilized their responsibility to ensure manufacturing. This study uses Bakhresa Foods Product Limited as a case better understand constraints facing firms engaged and offers suggestions for overcoming them. A qualitative design was adopted data gathered via in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), indirect observation, secondary analysis based on purposive sample size 60 respondents. Using MAXQDA 10 program, were analyzed using thematic technique. The study's findings showed reducing associated with lack innovation, professionals, an understanding economics finance presence extensive inventories, inadequate production planning. Remanufacturing further constrained by poor technology, unfavorable consumer attitudes, weak market strategy. Other reuse came from customer attitudes awareness, uniform standards materials goods, government support. Constraints recycling include support senior top management executives, significant upfront expenses, low-quality recycled goods. Therefore, improve situation, we suggest industries make use modernized equipment, clean monitoring evaluation systems, implement lean philosophy, give education about value programs.
